Yesterday

I can't believe how long it has been since my last entry. I have been busy with getting ready for the new class I am taking from Cathy Zielske on Big Picture Scrapping. It is called "Everyone Can Write a Little. I should finish an album made from comments on Twitter or Facebook. Being a novice with both, I have been setting up accounts and trying to figure out how to move around and connect. Quite the experience. Not at all like a blog. So this is where I spent the day yesterday, the first day of the class, and most of the last month. I am hoping to finish this four week class with an album and more importantly, an understanding of how my two new cyber spaces operate. I don't have a cell phone just my 'puter but spend much time here in the studio so this could be fun and I have found a few old friends. This will be interesting and a challenge.

Jon bought me a hat last week for spring. He said it was me and after wearing it for several days I tend to agree. It does fit my personality. I sent this collage to my mom today.

Birthday Boy

Our friends Matt and Mayumi's son Cody just turned three. He is such a delight to be around and at this age changing everyday. For his birthday we had a small secondary celebration at our Friday coffee get together at Caffe' Lento. We brought presents of books and puzzles, but the main attraction for the three year old was the balloons. He had more fun pulling them down and then letting them float to the ceiling. When Jon and I returned home, I made this little reminder with a quick page from Vera Limm Designs.

Fun Page

Just made this page with the help of a template from Scrapper's Guide. The template was produced by Sara Horton.

New Class

Signed up today for a new class at BPS (Big Picture Scrapbooking). The class is with designer Cathy Zielske. I have long admired her work and am so glad that she is teaching at BPS. The magazine that she was a contributor to has stopped publishing. No more Simple Scrapbooks magazine, along with no more Digital Scrapbooking magazine. My two favorite magazines both stopped this year. I am not a fan of this economic downturn. The truth is with so many of our fellow citizens in real financial trouble, I feel fortunate that these are the only losses we have had to deal with. Still when they were a part of my life that brought me both joy and knowledge the loss is an ache that I wish would stop. I think this class will bring some of that joy back. I am hoping to be able to do more than type a sentence in facebook and twitter after the class. So far I know nothing about copying from either site or adding photos. This should be quite interesting. If you can, sign up for Cathy's class. It is titled, "Everyone Can Write a Little." It is available at the BPS web site.

Library meeting

Yesterday, Jon and I attended a meeting of the Power Up America group which is part of MoveOn.org We learned a bit about green energy but most importantly met others who have the same concerns and desires as we do. I think that Jon enjoyed the experience as this is his issue in a big way. Now to convince our Representatives in Washington DC that we need green solutions to this economic crisis.

Here we are at our favorite spot at the Barnes and Noble store. Jon was reading about going "Green" and I had more than one of my favorite magazines out to read. This was the one with an article on blogging. I have been buying these since the very first issue and have decided that now I must get this latest issue.

Starting to Blog

I was at our local Barnes and Noble yesterday and picked up the latest issue of Somerset Studio, Blogger. In it was a review of blogspot. They said it was great for beginners and I thought it might suite my needs. I am trying the whole blog idea. I would like a place to post the occasional photo along with my words and perhaps be able to copy and paste them elsewhere like on a scrapbook page.
